The 2026 Olympics and Paralympics will take place in Milano-Cortina. Milano/Cortina’s application was preferred over Stockholm/Aare for its clear organisational experience in major sporting events, the sophistication of its tourist-cultural package and the excellent quality of so many of the mountain locations of the Valtellina. The competitions will be held across Milan, Verona, Valtellina, Val di Fiemme and Alto Adige. Milano and Cortina will host the official ceremonies, with a double opening ceremony in the two cities, and a single closing ceremony at the Verona Arena. The 2026 Winter Olympics will take place from 6 to 22 February, the Paralympics from 6 to 15 March. Milan will host the opening and closing ceremonies of the Paralympics. DOLOMITES
DELICIOUS TRAIL
Dolomites Delicious Trail will take place on 24 and 25 September 2021 in Cortina d’Ampezzo. At the mountain refuges along the route, and for the final event held at Pocol al Pala Delicious, the starting point for the competition, you can taste special, extremely delicious dishes, cooked by chefs at the restaurants and refuges involved, belonging to the Cortina Delicious area.

Delicious Festival will start on Friday 24 September with the opening of the Pala Delicious, when competitors collect their numbers and enjoy the wine and food evening. It continues on Saturday 25 September with the Delicious Trail, where the main 44 km race leaves the centre of Cortina, at 7.45 in the morning, followed by the short trail of 22.9 km, starting at 10am from Pocol. Then there is the Dolomites Delicious Climbing, a scored contest along the selected routes of the Cinque Torri, the longest rock-climbing route in Cortina. Along the way, the refuges prepare some traditional Ampezzo dishes.
