CULTURAL HIGHLIGHTS
Museum of Paleontology Rinaldo Zardini: Features an important collection of fossils and other remnants of the region’s formation and ancient past.
Ethnographic Museum Regole d'Ampezzo: Set in a former saw mill, this provides an insight into the local history and traditions that helped put Cortina on the map. Along with traditional costumes and craft works in ebony, iron and silver, it shows the importance of the forest to village life in the region.
The Great War Open Air Museum: The largest open-air museum of the First World War, which isn’t a museum in the traditional sense but a series of trails, trenches and entrenchments carved into the rock by Austro-Hungarian troops fighting the Italians.
